Waterside Wave - Outreach
The Imperium Federation - Waterside, King’s Oak & Oak Lodge provides education for pupils outside of mainstream education, either with a diagnosis of SEMH,Autism or other social issues and all of whom are vulnerable.
We are an Outstanding Ofsted federation (primary and secondary) and are the only maintained SEN schools within Greenwich.
At Imperium, we believe that pupils with SEMH and Autistic needs benefit from a consistent nurturing provision with both attachment/trauma informed practice at the centre. For the pupils who attend our schools, the chances for success to either return to mainstream education or succeed at specialist (including gaining expected and exceeding at KS2 SATs and 9 GCSEs 5’s and above) is well proven.
For some pupils who do not have an EHCP, but who are finding the challenges of mainstream education interesting to manage, our Outreach WAVE can be used with individuals, groups, staff and schools, giving much needed support and guidance. This service is part of an SLA with the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Our service has a longstanding reputation and this new refreshed version will be more reactive to situations that are facing schools on a daily basis.
Waterside Outreach Update
Over the coming weeks (Autumn 2025), we will be relaunching the Outreach Service as Waterside Wave. This service will offer a far more targeted approach to supporting pupils with a clear drive on Trauma and Attachment needs - as these have been identified as major drivers for the current cohort of behaviours - and ensuring that behaviours that are linked to other possible diagnosis (such as children with Autism or ADHD) are not masked and mis-diagnosed.
In the meantime, please make use of the current referral forms on this page if you need support.
LeAFE Training
The Imperium Federation lead on LeAFE training (supportive holding) and this can be delivered directly to your teams. The training is CPD UK, BILD and RRN approved as well as having been seen by OFSTED and was mentioned by the DfE as an outstanding methodology.
LeAFE training offers a system based upon understanding and working with natural movement of the body. This promotes a non-confrontational, pro-active and preventative approach to managing challenging behaviour by using gradual and graded interventions.
For more information regarding the above mentioned training, please contact either Mr Griffiths or Mr Collard on the school’s main telephone number (option 5) or visit the website by clicking/tapping here.
